  1. If I remove the client library from the debug / application directory then attempt to check off the Connect box in TFDConnection I get a message that it can't find the client library at all so I'm not sure why but this leads me to believe that FireDac or the IDE is not reading the fddrivers.ini file and getting the client library locations from.
  2. I use firedac to make a simple access to a mysql DB, but when trying to connect the component ADconnection he returned an error: 'FireDacPhysMySQL-314. Cannot load vendor library libmysql.dll or libmysqlld.dll' 11. Jose Luis Rocha replied on 20-Mar-2013.

Delphi 10.1 Berlin and MySQL 5.1.37I have previously used dbexpress to build my database apps, and am nowtrying my first attempt with FireDACI dropped a TFDConnection, TFDQuery, TDatasource and TDBGrid on a VCLform and entered the appropriate parameters.Tried to run from the IDE. Got the user name and password dialog, andthen the errorFireDACPhysMySQL-314 Cannot load vendor library libmysql.dllor libmysql.dll.The system cannot find the file specified.Hint: Check it is in the PATH or application EXE directories, andhas x86 bitness.OK. So I copy the libmysql.dll to the same folder as the executable(Win32debug) but still the same error.I also get the same error if I try setting the TFDConnection.Connectedor TFDQuery.Active property to true.I then added a couple of lines of code to the forms OnActivate method, setting both TFDConnection.Connected or TFDQuery.Active property totrue.I then ran the executable (not from the IDE) and it worked perfectly. The DBGrid was populated with my data.Back to the IDE and try running again.

Still get the Cannot loadvendor library error.I then see the remark about TFDPhysMySQLDriverLink so I drop that onthe form and set the VendorLib property to the full path and file namefor libmysql.dllAnd now it works from the IDE.So I am a bit confused. Why does the IDE need TFDPhysMySQLDriverLink to find libmysql.dll whenthe executable does not?I then deleted the TFDPhysMySQLDriverLink from the form.Tried running from the IDE and it all works.Huh? Does the IDE store something?I now shut down Delphi and restart. And now it doesn't work from the IDE.

Back to square one. I have toadd back TFDPhysMySQLDriverLink to be able to run from the IDE.-Bob Small.
